Immediate total immersion

Soon after we arrived at Marley’s house after our marathon 16-hour journey, we were off to Pampelonne beach …

for dinner at L’Orangerie and a much needed run and play on the beach.Marley and I ran. and I rolled, rolled and rolled on the sand

and took some brave steps into the water …

We picked up sticks from the water and chewed them on the sandy beachMarley looking on as I took the stick away from himDo I look like I had fun? 🙂We have definitely started our holiday because Mummy took delight in seeing me go into the water and rolled in the sand – without once shouting at me.  I have to say, I think she was really happy to see me play in the sand (spa appointment booked ahead of time for our return!)

The hoomans sat down to dinner as the sun was settingHmmm, I like fish too.And Marley wondered what he was going to have …It was so lovely being on the beach, that after the hoomans finished their dinner, we all went for another walk on the beach – as the skies grew dark.I heard we’re back on the beach again tomorrow. After all, we are in St. Tropez …

May’s comment:  It was such a good idea to drop off our bags and went straight to the beach after that 16 hour journey, starting at an unearthly hour.  It was a good way to leave that behind us and immediately immerse ourselves in the new environment. A lovely way to start our short holiday – at dusk with  a bottle of rose, delicious fresh seafood, dogs playing on the beach, and being with friends who are completely chilled about dogs – sandy or not in the home and on the bed!!!!A toast to our holiday!
