Marley left us suddenly a week ago in a tragic road accident.
If only we can turn back time and change the course of events – but helplessly we can’t.
And helplessly, we felt his mummy’s deep, deep unbearable heartache of losing her Marley.
It doesn’t seem right, it doesn’t seem fair. It was an accident but one that took away a life – and no love can ever bring back.
Through all this raw pain, we felt this beautiful thing called love – Deb’s burning love for Marley Moo.
We did not know Marley – but like so many others, the news brought us alongside his mummy, Deb and her family – in grief.
“I don’t want to hear that time will heal
I don’t want the despairing pain to subside
I want to wrap the immense grief around myself
Because at least the pain says Marley is there.
I want the tears to flow endlessly
I want the heart to break again and again
Into a hundred thousand pieces
When they do, it just means Marley is still real.
For I am afraid when the pain subsides
And I have to get on with living
That the memories, the warmth of his body
The joy of his existence will vaporise into the ether.”
But time is kind and while it eases the pain
Time also locks memories in a special time capsule.
As for the thousand shattered pieces of a broken heart
The glue called love will put it all back together.
It won’t ever be the same again because
Your heart has been filled with the beauty of grief
And the pain of loving too much.
Marley Moo has changed your life, your heart, your loving.
He has already seeped into every part of your being
And for that he will always be a part of you.
You will love another again – and again
Because the glue of love that holds your heart – is expandable.
May’s comment: We send you and your family big, big hugs to hold you tight and a very large band-aid to wrap around your broken heart. Marley Moo would be so upset if he could see what pain you’re going through
Holding you tight with hugs of love and wrapping you with arms of comfort.
For Marley Moo (19.3.2014 – 25.7.2015) – you were gone too soon. Wherever you are, give your brother lots of licks.
