Regally yours, Victoria & George

IMG_5415

I have a new friend. Her name is Victoria. She’s seven and she loves – well, I would like to say, me, but to be fair, she LOVES all dogs. But she can’t have one in the building where her family lives – so she dreams about having a dog and she has not given up hoping to have one someday.

You see, Victoria learnt about Darcy and I when she saw us on our last year’s Christmas card.  Victoria told me that she has kept the card by her bed all this time.  IMG_0002-580x415-3Oh, we think she will be so thrilled with this year’s card.

Victoria is one very determined little girl. Since she can’t have a dog, she asked her parents ever so often if she could see me or take me on walks in the park. So one day back in April she finally met me, when I was still very naughty.  Since then things have been rather busy on both sides and six months flew past. Then this past Sunday, we had a date.

Victoria was so excited, she asked her daddy if she could buy some treats, poo bags and water bowl for our walk in the park.IMG_5416We had a very active walk – we ran the whole time!!! And Victoria’s daddy was running after us so all photos taken by her daddy were back views of us! LOL!IMG_5418 We did stop to look at the geese … as we stood afar to watch them come in for a landing.  I wasn’t allowed off lead the whole time. IMG_5417When we got home, Darcy wanted to know how was my park walk with Victoria. Actually, she was more interested in the treats in Victoria’s pockets.

And then we all shook hands/paws to say goodbye.IMG_5401

May’s comment:  It’s a joy to see children engaging with dogs.  I am sure some day Victoria and her brother will have their own. She has been so persistent the whole year. It is a matter of time – seeing how she has her daddy wrapped around her little finger! LOL!

If I charged everyone who wanted to borrow George, he would be making a healthy living.  But George is not for rent – he is for borrowing though, to help little ones like Victoria who want so badly to just walk a dog. Or for those friends who can’t have dogs but would like the company of one now and then.  Even as a playdate or companionship for other little doggies.

George endears himself to others so easily and has a good time with whoever takes him. He is super child-friendly and child-size, he’s also easily manageable.  And so confident in himself.  He has people falling all over him.

  1. That George is a real charmer… I guess he picking up where big George left off by getting married! He would be a great comfort dog for those hospital visiting programs… Although I am sure you have had your fill of hospitals for the moment! Hope you are taking it easy May. Xo

    1. Good thinking. I had thought of Darcy as P.A.T. dog but come to think of it – George is perfect!!! He loves people and not bothered by any humans big or small. He loves to be patted, stormed, cuddles and held.
