Maddie has been staying with us since last Thursday but she hasn’t quite caught onto something called the “snooze button.”
And we gathered that her mummy and daddy wakes up early and she must have breakfast by 7am. Well, that’s when the first alarm goes off in our bedroom.
A long time ago, I used to wake to the alarm and then stare at Mummy or try to wake her up, like Maddie does.
But I have since learnt that the first alarm may go and even the second alarm may go – it doesn’t mean breakfast is soon served.
When I hear the alarm, I move from the other side of the bed to jump up right next to Mummy – ready to jump off the bed when she rouses.
Maddie looks at me wondering why I am not joining in her in trying to wake up Mummy.
George is still at his corner of the bed.
And he slowly raises his head to look at the daylight outside the window
And then looks over at Mummy to see what is happening.
And Maddie – still whimpering and crying – breakfast, breakfast, breakfast
Finally Mummy sits up and I then jump off the bed
George then moves over to take my place
Mummy then showed Maddie the rewards for being patient – a tummy rub which she was thoroughly enjoying! 🙂
Maddie is leaving us tomorrow. Besides our good company, tummy rubs and lots of cuddles from everyone who comes to visit, she would have learnt one new thing called the “SNOOZE BUTTON!”
May’s comment: Staying up late to watch the Olympics doesn’t help with an early rise. LOL! Even the snooze button is annoying.

Harry is fast asleep. I doubt his snooze button will work in 5 hours!! ??
