How old are you, Isis?

The storyline for the first series of Downton Abbey began in April 1912 and ended in 1914. We remember seeing Isis’ swagger on telly from the beginning.

tumblr_lvmhv3xMRU1qjavys-4The second series was 1916-1918, the third was between 1920-1921. The fourth series occurred between 1922-1923.

And as the fifth season begins in 1924, Isis made quite a few appearances in tonight’s episode. He must be at least 11 years old by now. Let’s hope Julian Fellowes does not kill her off – that would be tragic!!!

  1. Hi Darcy and May, the dog in the 1st series is now 7 years old as I work with Rolys owner. He is still doing adverts on the TV so keep an eye out for him. Roly is the dog sitting on the mat and rear end shot with Highclere Castle in the background. The picture of the gent and dog isn’t Roly, I think this might be Lady Carnarvons dog who owns the Castle but I’m not sure. Hope this helps…. Alex

  2. Hi Alex, it’s just that the Producers pride themselves with such fine detail on all the sets. But given the time span of the series, Isis must be at least 11 by Season Five and he wasn’t a puppy in Season One. So you know how Julian Fellowes just kills off characters (not as quickly as Game of Thrones) well, we’re relieved he seems to have overlooked this bit.
