We almost missed Afternoon Tea Week (10-16 August) this year, if not for Jane reminding us about it.
As soon as she was told, Mum promptly called the Belmond Cadogan and checked if they were serving Afternoon Tea – and they were! We hurried along to partake of the theme of this wonderful week.

Mum, just staring at you with the most angelic face – with a ‘halo’ to go with it.

Look at that pretty spread!

This is what it is all about – the scones!

I am staring at you, pleading with my eyes – and my nose is twitching …
Can it be true? Is that a teeny morsel of the scone coming my way?

YES!!!! I had the last bite of the scone!

May’s comment: We chose to go to The Belmond Cadogan because I couldn’t forget the chef’s special truffle eggs as a starter from a year ago!

And the tea cosies are hand knitted by the chef, Adam Handling’s mother!

And I remember from last year their savouries were different and you didn’t leave feeling stuffed!
Still couldn’t finish the spread – so had the sweets packed to take home.
