Telly Weekends

IMG_3287

The weekends seem to come around very quickly these days. Have you noticed?

Our Friday night ritual starts at 6pm. Mum closes her laptop (she tries), lights the candle in the Aesop essential oil burner, turn down the lights for mood, we all have our supper and then settle down to watch telly series.

But now, we have our own pet candle for ambiance.

Oud jasmine scented pet-friendly candle from The Pet Friendly Candle Co.

And we even have our own blanket to sit on … look carefully. You might miss the real us!

Can you see us?

And when the days get cooler again,

… it will come in very handy as we all snuggle up.

Mum, since you’re not featured on this blanket …

May’s comment: We love our weekends, starting from Friday night. During Lockdown I started to watch a lot more television series and movies. We got into a routine and I added to our weekend experience by ordering online an essential oil burner from Aesop to create the mood. Use some fairy lights and sometimes a glass of vodka tonic.

Coincidentally, Pet Friendly Candle Co. sent us a oud-jasmine scented pet-friendly candle.

The Pet Friendly Candle Co. made it their mission to find a blend of ingredients that significantly lowers the risk of seizures and breathing issues to both pets and humans.

In 2019, the news brought to the attention of the public that animals can be taken seriously sick through the burning of candles and the chemicals that diffusers give off. After researching this, it became apparent that it’s not just our pets that can be affected but also us humans.

Their candles are made of soy wax, essential oils and non-metal works. Amazingly it has little soot, no carcinogens and its vegan!

And to make every movie night an even bigger occasion, we received a Printy Pets blanket! It is incredibly soft and perfect for the sofa! Even I enjoy sitting on it or under it when it gets cooler!

Or in bed!

Back to telly nights.

We’ve recently watched …

“The Great” – a comedy-drama following the rise of Catherine the Nothing to Catherine the Great! Well done, funny, entertaining and good watch for Lockdown.

“Big Little Lies” – a dark comedy set in Monterrey, California. The roaring waves and that stone bridge sets the tone. Has really difficult story lines with fantastic acting, and the most satisfactory ending for Season 1. Binge watched Season 2. Wonder if there’s a Season 3.

“Little Fires Everywhere” – finally got around to finishing it. Rather depressing and probably not a good one to watch during Lockdown.

And of course The Morning Show on Apple TV. Very relevant topics for today’s media.

Seems like a lot of Reese Witherspoon!

What have you seen lately on telly that you can recommend?
