This year, I got to go to Little Tyke’s Sports Day!

After a long Winter and a Spring that teased us every day, the sun finally came out! And the weather was simply perfect.
I watched with great interest as the children did their track and field events … thinking I bet I can run faster than the fastest!

All that while Mum and all the other parents had picnics galore! LOL!

Little Tyke took part in three activities – and even though he did not win any prizes, we were proud that he took part.
He will always be my winner!

And then to find out that Little Tyke’s house – Scott was the winning team of 2023! Hip! Hip! Hooray!
May’s comment: One of the highlights of the English summer is School Sports Day! And this year is a special one because after two years at Windlesham House Prep School, Sasha participated in his last Sports Day. He will be starting his next term at a new senior school.
Sasha has never enjoyed athletics because he is not good at it. In the past, he would avoid it at all costs. Being at boarding school had made him more of a team player. This year, an ankle injury and his growth spurts pains impeded his performance. Despite limping around the field, and knowing that he didn’t have a chance at winning, he still did his part for his House by participating.

Race after race he limped across the finish line and he walked away probably a little frustrated that he couldn’t give his best. But he did not dwell on it. Instead, as soon as he finished his last races, we went straight to the pizza van and had ice-cream! LOL!
So proud of him because he had embodied that the most important thing is not winning but taking part.
