Tails to be told

GEORGE

Mum never misses an opportunity for a photoshoot – so when Elena of Pawtiqe told us about a project that she’s working on, we definitely wanted to be a part of it. The project, Tails of the World: The Book – is one big, beautiful coffee table book featuring 365 stunning pet portraiture from 80 artists from different countries. All proceeds from this book will go to a charity – Second Chance Animal Rescue.

All this resonates well with me because I was given a second chance after I was culled from the streets in Hungary and thrown into a Killing Station. Fate had it that I was spotted by a local Animal Shelter and given a life line when Hungary Hearts Dog Rescue told of my plight on their Facebook page. That was when Mum decided to foster me. And we know the rest of the story.

This gives me an opportunity to give back in some way to the many dogs out there that deserves a second chance.

Elena thought it would be lovely to capture me on the streets – this time near our home, and wearing a collar and tag that says I belong to someone.

These are some of the images that Elena took of me. She hasn’t decided which one will be entered for the book.

During the session, Elena did an artsy one – Mum always love photos of us walking together. And in this, even though we were not in focus, you can still see the connection between us.

And these days wandering the streets of London has a whole new purpose – as we continue to discover dog friendly places in the city.

May’s comment: Tails of the World is a collaborative project from pet photographers all around the globe. United to help raise funds for pet rescue and spread joy with beautiful photography and heartwarming stories. With gorgeous photos submitted by international pet photographers and artists, this book celebrates each unique location and the dogs who live there.

The 80 photographers taking part in the project will photograph pets between April and July 2023, and donate their session fee to a local charity, supporting animal rescue worldwide simultaneously.
100% of proceeds from the sales of the book will be donated to Second Chance Animal Rescue, Inc.
These books will be available to purchase worldwide from March 2024.

And one for the failed fosterer …
