May’s comment: We have designed a range of city dog coats called Miss Darcy for Alice Foxx for the dog accessories company Alice Foxx.
We decided to do so because we couldn’t find anything we liked that was both practical and stylish. Given our experience of living in the city, walking around the block after rain means they have mucky chests and bellies, and their legs are filthy. They are designed to purposefully cover their chest and as much of their tummy as possible.
There are five coats in our range, currently all bespoke.
The Marlowe Trench – a British classic. Made from cotton gabardine and lined with plaid cotton. Details include classic storm shield and belt with leather-covered buckle.
The Darcy Duffle is the classic Paddington Bear coat. Made from traditional wool blend, it comes in red and blue, features the iconic toggle and lined with plaid cotton. Will definitely keep your pooches warm.
The George Quilted Coat or Gilet – the classic! Lined with a black fleece for comfort, with corduroy collar.
This is little Chanel wearing her wine coloured George Quilted.
The Bertie Waxed coat is a classic – waterproof and wind-proof with corduroy collar and lined with plaid cotton.
This is Seymour wearing his adapted version.
The Costeau Neoprene jacket or gilet which comes in red, blue and yellow. This is waterproof and insulated for warmth.
Even the Italian Greyhounds are wearing out Costeau gilets
All coats are currently made to measure. If you’re in London, we will come and visit you for a measuring session. If not, we will tell you how to measure your pooches.
