Well, Georgie finally had the courage to go into the BIG puddle!!!
Yay! Georgie, you did it!!! Now you’re one of us!
Let’s celebrate!Oh, ok – next thing you need to learn is to jump over barriers – not run around them!
May’s comment: OMG!!!! When I once thought it was safe that at least one dog will avoid puddles, now we’re in trouble.
George is still learning a lot of things. He is frightened when the floor surfaces are unfamiliar and would not walk on them.
He has always avoided walking into the water when we’re at the beach. He would run along the beach and gingerly tested the wet sand.
And only because he’s afraid of water that was what stopped him from going for the ducks at Regent’s Park. The last time we were there I watched him run madly, dashing around and eyeing the ducks in the lake. And only for the water between him and them, nothing happened. He circled back but now – I may have to be ready to swim after him!!!!

Is George afraid of wood floors by any chance? Merlin gets scared of them! He sleeps in a room with a wood floor but in a new house he sometimes comes over all funny! Once his reaction was so strange I almost phoned a vet, thinking he was having some kind of fit!
No not wood floors but glass floors or going into the elevator when it has metallic flooring.

(1996-2008) hated the water.
We have a house right in a lake!
When I dog sat Lucy ( cocker spaniel)
we were walking in Central Park and just strolling along when all of a sudden she jerked loose and headed for the lake! She swam around and luckily came right out and ran back to me. She shook herself off to dry and thereby water from Lucy transferred to me and my body.
I just was so relieved to have her back with me on land!
The whole episode from start to finish took about 5 minutes but seemed like an hour.

Courageous Georgie! Elsie (spoodle) hates the water too. We bought her a paddle pool the first Christmas we had her thinking it would be a good way for her to cool off in the summer heat. She just skirted around it as if it was some prehistoric animal! I’m thankful now, as when we take her to the coast she won’t go anywhere near the sea, and we have nasty things like sharks here in Oz.
