Phew! Now that we know we can’t confirm what George’s origins are, we can all relax and get some sleep!
May’s comment: Closer by the day, closer by the minute. They may sometimes fight each other for my attention but when left alone, they are content. They sleep next to each other.
I once worried if Darcy felt that I had pushed something into her life and she didn’t have a say in it. I was rid with guilt at times but someone reminded me – dogs are very straightforward. They do not pretend to like someone or another dog if they don’t. I would have known if Darcy did not want George in our lives.
No, she’s not over the moon about him. She does give me looks whenever I am holding George – as he loves being held. She would walk away sometimes when she sees me cuddling him. Or she sulks if I had spent the day with him and she was off somewhere without me. That’s when she gets really annoyed with George – who is always excited to see her.
They will play and then tells him off when she’s had enough. If anything, she’s been most generous and gracious.
He is also realising he’s not pushing her around any time. They will co-exist and as for me – I am getting better everyday in handling both of them – whether just remembering who had done a pee and who had done a poo during our required walks – and getting used to taking them both on buses!!! Can’t do the tube as I would have to carry them both on escalators! One step too far or rather too few arms!

How sweet. Happy contented dogs x
How they are getting along is in the photo of George and DArcy with George’s arms around her. One picture is worth a thousand words!
Enjoy, Relax and Rest on your laurels,
You’ve done a fantastic job!!
xoJ.
I’ve always read that dogs are very sensitive to fairness. Like little kids they count hugs, treats etc and you have to make sure they get equal measures of everything. But I do notice that when one of mine is particularly needy the others back off. That’s when my heart feels like bursting with love for them and their sensitivity. Such special creatures they are. I think George is still really young and puppyish. As he matures it will be much easier for Darcy. Love the photos!
I’m so impressed how you and Miss Darcy have integrated George into your lives. X
