Places to wine and dine in LONDON with your dog(s) –
We live in London and one of the things that got us started on this blog was the search of dog-friendly places. I had separation anxiety, I did not want to go out without Darcy. Besides, I have a better time whenever she is out with me. So I set about finding places that would allow me to share my dining experiences with Darcy and eventually George.
Because we wanted to let other dog owners know they can do the same, we started to blog about our experiences!
We did not settle for the obvious pubs which tend to be dog-friendly but sought out white table-cloth restaurants, cafes, healthy places to eat and especially those with an ambience.
At the time of posting, these listed places have been tried and tested by me and doggies but things might have changed since – and some may have closed. We try to update this list as often as we can but can you imagine what state we would be in if we ate at all these restaurants regularly!
If you know of any places in London or Greater London that are not listed here, do let us know – it will give us another reason to try yet another place that welcome our furry member of the family.
But PLEASE be a considerate dog-owner. When you go out to dine with your pooches keep in mind it is a privilege, not a given. Places in London are opening up to the idea, let’s keep that momentum going. It’s upsetting to hear that some restaurants have reverted their policies because they had “bad experiences.”
- Keep your dog on a leash
- Keep them out of the way of waiters and other diners (preferably under the table)
- Don’t let them get near the food on the table (I am sometimes guilty of this but I only do so at more casual eateries)
- Make sure they don’t bark. Nothing like having an intimate conversation over dinner and be interrupted by a bark.
Otherwise, go forth and conquer the world with doggy love. So often they are much better behaved than humans but there’s a huge prejudice to overcome, so let’s help ourselves.
